According to the statistical data of the City Department of Planning and Investment, by the end of the month 8-2009, there are 11,109 enterprises registered business under the Enterprise Law in Danang city.
Accordingly, the enterprises has played the deciding role of sustainable growth and development of the economy of Danang city through mobilizing sources of capital and the social strength servicing production and business activities, contributing significantly to changing the economic structure towards industrializing and modernizing, creating new jobs, helping reduce unemployment rate, contributing the state budget, contributing to solving social problems ..

In the total operating enterprises, state enterprises account for 7.30%, non-state enterprises account for 90.18%, foreign invested enterprises make up 2.52.The total active enterprises, state enterprises account for 7.30%, non-state enterprises account for 90.18%, enterprises invested abroad constitute 2.52%. Thereby shows that, the essential component of the enterprises in the city is privately owned enterprises, of which 64.59% of enterprises is a type of limited companies; 17.52% is of JSC; private companies make up 17.88% ; 0.01% of other types is mostly small and medium-sized businesse.

There are approximately 56.33% of enterprises with the capital less than 1 billion; 38.32% of them has the capital from one billion to les than 10 billion; 4.02% of them has the capital from 10 billion to less than 50 billion; 0,54% has the capital from 50 billion to less than 100 billion; 0.73% has the capital from 100 billion to less than 1,000 billion; and only 0.06% of business capital from 1,000 billion VND and more.

Currently, the city has six industrial zones with total area of over 1666 hectares, including 614 hectare area for lease.The IZ has received nearly 300 projects, of which 214 projects have been put into operation (including 57 foreign direct invested projects with foreign direct - 157 domestic investment projects.)

The IZ have created jobs for 50,611 workers, of which more than 40% of workers come from other provinces.Accordingly, the annual turnover of enterprises with foreign investment reaches over 82 million USD, paying 3 million USD for state budge.The turnover of the domestic investment projects reaches 3722 billion, paying 131 billion for state budge.

In general, socio-economic situation in the city over the first 9 months of 2009 has had signs of rehabilitatio.The value of industry production is estimated at 8234.5 billion, reached 72.9% of the plan, up 5.9% compared with the same period; the value of manufacturing agriculture and forestry and aquiculture is estimated at 566 billion, reached 88.4 % of the plan, up 4%; the value of service production is estimated at 5847.7, reached 71.3% of the plan, up 11.3% .The total amount of retail goods and services is estimated at 15,921 billion VND, reached 74% of the plan, up 14.

The export turnover of goods and services is estimated at 706.6 million, reached 70.7% of the plan, up 1.4%. The total amount of visitors and tourists account for 1043.3 thousand participants, reached 79.6% of the plan, up 5.1% .The city has licensed 16 new FDI projects with total new capital of 152.8 million USD, created new jobs for 23,957 workers, reaching 79.9% of the plan, increasing 0, 9% over the same perio.
